Scandal at “The View”: $50 million fine and threatened closure after Carrie Underwood’s complaint

New York – The popular American talk show  “The View”  is at the center of a media and legal storm after country singer Carrie Underwood filed a lawsuit against the show, accusing the hosts of publicly humiliating her in one of the recent episodes.

Sources familiar with the matter said the complaint has led to a fine of up to $50 million against the production. But that’s not all: There’s also talk of a possible permanent ban on the show, an unprecedented event in the history of American television.

During the distressing episode, Underwood was reportedly the subject of comments that were perceived as “insulting and intentionally derogatory.” The visibly shaken singer called  The View  “the worst show in the history of the United States,” sparking heated debate on social media and in the entertainment world.

ABC, the network that broadcasts the show, has not yet released an official statement, but insiders say disciplinary action is being considered against the hosts involved.
