Jelly Roll and his new song “Dreams Don’t Die” will appear in the April 11 Fire Country episode, titled “Fire And Ice.”

Jelly Roll is set to make his acting debut as a former convict on Fire Country, premiering Friday, April 11 on CBS. Along with his appearance, the show will also feature a brand-new, unreleased song from the genre-blending star, titled “Dreams Don’t Die.”

Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, will take on the role of Noah, “a healthcare worker and former convict who is in the process of turning his life around,” in the Fire Country episode titled “Fire And Ice” (Season 3, Episode 17).

In a newly released trailer for the upcoming show, fans can see a first look at Jelly Roll’s acting ambitions coming to life. The 1-minute clip, soundtracked by his new song “Dreams Don’t Die,” features the country star in what appears to be a prison bus telling character Vince Leone, “Memories are complicated, but your boy got a second chance.”

As mentioned, the episode will feature a brand-new song from Jelly Roll, titled “Dreams Don’t Die,” which will be available on all streaming platforms the same day.

“How many dreams have I seen burn up like ashes… Where dreams don’t die,” the lyrics of “Dreams Don’t Die” can be heard throughout the promotional video.

First Announced His Fire Country Acting Debut In January of 2025

In a video, released as a promotional clip in January of 2025, Fire Country star/actor Max Thieriot first revealed Jelly Roll as a guest star in the series.

“Country music superstar Jelly Roll is making his acting debut in Fire Country,” Thieriot, who plays Bode Leone—a former inmate striving for redemption by volunteering with the California Conservation Camp Program—revealed the news at the time. “From the stage to the fire line, it’s time to see if I can keep up,” Jelly Roll said in the clip, before turning to Thieriot, and saying “Man, this is tougher than the Grammys,” with a laugh.

Jelly Roll isn’t the first country artist to appear on Fire Country, in fact, his “Haunted” collaborator Kane Brown previously portrayed a role in the show, which marked Brown’s acting debut. Brown played the character of Robin, an “enigmatic, modern-day train hopper,” who helps injured train patients at the crash scene.

“Acting has been a life-long dream of mine, and to make my debut on a hit series like Fire Country is such an honor,” Brown previously shared of the opportunity during an interview with People.

Previously Appeared As Himself In Tulsa King

The “Liar” singer/songwriter previously appeared as himself on an episode of Tulsa King, however, this marks his acting debut playing a character in a TV show. During his appearance on Tulsa King, he acted as himself and performed his song, “I Am Not Okay.”

Jelly Roll previously opened up about wanting to get more into acting during an Audacy: Check-In interview in 2023. “I want to act, really bad,” Jelly Roll said, before crediting his “Lonely Road” duet partner as his inspiration to pursue the new career path. “I know it sounds weird [and] I never thought I would act, but I’ve been really inspired by what Machine Gun Kelly has done with his career the last three years. I’m one of the old-school guys, and this is weird, but if I see somebody do something, whatever in me, since I was a kid, instantly goes, ‘Oh, that’s doable.’”

Acting aside, Jelly Roll also has a lot on the horizon with his music career. The “Son Of A Sinner” hitmaker is gearing up to hit the road this Spring/Summer on the Big Ass Stadium Tour with Post Malone and has been releasing new music pretty frequently.
